So we packed up the car, the kids, the dog, the bikes, the snacks, the car DVD player and pretty much everything else we could possible fit in the car (yes we are now in the market for a car top carrier) and headed to Georgia (in all it’s hot and humid glory) to visit my parents. It was one delay after another right from the get go but once we did finally get going at a good highway cruising speed the newly promoted 7 year old (it was his actually birthday) tossed up his lunch. Ahh, the joys of a family road trip! We took the kids to Lake Allatoona for some Kayaking and to the Tennessee Aquarium for some underwater adventure. Here are a few photos of our family vacation.
Here’s the birthday boy opening his gifts! Yippee!
The kids at the Tennessee Aquarium…if you haven’t been it’s wonderful and they’ve opened up a whole new salt water building since I was there last.
I think it’s kinda funny how the shark is looming in the background!
Inside the tank for a new perspective.
One of the tiniest sea horses I’ve ever seen!
This is a leafy sea dragon! I am fascinated by these creatures. I actually went scuba diving in Australia to look for them but alas I’ve only seen these mysterious creatures in the aquarium.
They had a butterfly exhibit too! Thousands of butterflies flying around!
Don’t they look terrified?
Our little super kayaker! We had to drag this boy out of the lake!
It wouldn’t be a family vacation with out a little family get together at the end! Poor Jack, has already gone back to school, for the rest it’s looming near!
