I grabbed a Mountain Xpress this afternoon and was delighted to see one of my images featured on the cover of their “Local Wedding Album”. Lot’s of great wedding info. in this issue so check it out!
Sometimes I get busy doing doing photography for other people (which I do love, don’t get me wrong) and I forget to do some photography for me, to recharge my batteries per say. That’s what this post is about. I took a very lovely hike in Dupont Forest in the snow. I breathed in the fresh air, I slowed my pace and look in all the little frozen delights. Ahhhh, now why don’t I do this more often? I can’t at the moment figure out why…I think that might be a new (albeit late) New Year’s resolution. Here are a few pictures from my hike.

All Ryan and Brianne wanted for Christmas was to get married … the two tied the knot on December 27th at Grace Church in Asheville. Their wedding had a winter/Christmas theme complete with fur muffs for the ladies, snowflake jewerly, fully decorated Christmas trees, “snowballs” in the brides bouquet done by The Bloom Room and even a present wedding cake done by City Bakery. The details were beautifully planed by Asheville Event Co. (Becca, you rock!). The bridal party traveled to and from the church with class and style in one of the Asheville Trolley cars. The festivities continued after the ceremony at the stunningly beautiful Grand Bohemian. Vinny with Split Second Sound kept the party moving with fun and interesting twists. It was an amazing nite….and a Wonderful World!

Tommy and Ashley got married at the beautiful Claxton Farm just a few weeks before their barn burned down. It was a sad loss but were happy to here they’ve already go skematics drawn up for the new barn. Jennifer King with Verge Events had every detail planned and perfectly in place. Tiffany’s Baking Co. provided the most beautiful cake I think I’ve ever seen at a wedding and Studio Flora Diva set the tone with stunning fall colored bouquets! The mountains and Claxton Farm were alive with fall color. Congratulations Tommy and Ashley!

I was so excited about this bridal portrait session! Shelley wanted something fun and creative and really wanted to do something in a forest. I had a beautiful antique love seat that I thought would fit her vision and she loved it! It was so much fun to work with a bride that wasn’t afraid to hike into the wood on the Blue Ridge Parkway just outside of Asheville in her wedding gown! She was such a trooper and as a result we were both thrilled with the results!

Shelley and Drew had a true fairytale wedding complete with princesses, fairies and a dragon! Shelley and Drew are alumni of the UNC Asheville’s theatre program so it was entirely fitting that they got married at the Carol Belk Theatre on the UNC Asheville Campus. This was not typical wedding, they had a stage director, a lighting director, fog, this wedding was a full blown fantasy production! The festivities continued at the beloved Homewood, it’s castle like exterior was a perfect setting! Amazing food was provided by The Colorful Palate…those girls sure do know how to make some amazing food! (I am particularly fond of there chocolate covered peanut butter balls)

Jenny is my nephew’s Mommy, we did her pregnancy portrait session when she was about 7 months pregnant. The beautiful babe is here now and all are doing great! And I get to spoil a cute little munchkin!

So, I’ve gotten really behind on my Blog…..I’m sorry and I’m going to try to get it all caught up before Christmas and stay on track in the New Year. Everybody needs goals…let’s see if I can do it!
